We need a fic with regal x male reader , like boyfriends

Which one of you brilliant people sent me this request? I’d like to give you a kiss (or a pat on the shoulder) because I’ve been trying to find any excuse to write Regal with a boyfriend for the longest time. The most sincere apologies to Anon for taking so long in answering - I hope you enjoy it! <3

Everything was slow in coming back into focus. The edges of your consciousness were still blurred from sleep. Even with your eyes closed, you were somewhat aware of the world surrounding you. From the sheets bunched at the foot of the bed to the warm Floridian breeze brushing over your bare back. You made no attempt to move or force yourself to wake any quicker. 

Vacations were designed to be slow and lazy. And, albeit relatively short, you were going to make the most of this vacation. Normally, you would drag your exhausted self out from underneath your boyfriend into the shower before shuffling off in search of coffee. It certainly wasn’t paradise, but the comfort of William’s arms around you made them bearable. 

Speaking of… 

You couldn’t help noticing the lack of William’s presence beside you in bed. No arms were cradling you to a broader chest and no light kisses were being peppered to the nape of your neck. With a low groan, you cracked open your eyes to confirm that the other side of the bed was empty. Where was he? Neither of you were enthusiastic people in the morning and you’d much rather bury yourselves beneath the covers than venture into the world before absolutely necessary. A glance towards the open balcony doors answered your question. 

From your vantage point on the bed, you could clearly see William - still dressed in his sleep clothes - crouching low to the ground. Everything clicked into place when, only a few feet from your boyfriend, a lizard appeared on the railing. It was a muddy green colour with a tail long enough to curl loosely around the wooden bannister for balance. As slowly as possible, William held up a single grape whilst keeping his face turned slightly and only watching the creature out of the corner of his eye. It approached the offered gift tentatively before snatching it and darting into the nearest tree.

Finally, you rolled out of bed and joined your boyfriend on the balcony. It was still too early for you to be fully-awake yet. Maybe you could tempt him back into bed for a little while. William settled himself in a deck chair before you made yourself comfortable in his lap; enjoying the fact that getting dressed wasn’t a high priority today and you were able to walk around in your boxers and nothing else.

“You’re looking rather rugged, Dear.” 

“It’s my vacation beard. No work means no shaving.” 

‘Beard’ was a slight overstatement for the day-old stubble that had already become annoyingly itchy. As if reading your mind, William lightly scratched the very corner of your jaw and you melted into the touch. One of your arms draped across his shoulders with a gentle hand carding through the hair on the back of William’s head. If there was such a thing as Heaven, you sincerely hoped that you’d find the comforting embrace of your old rogue there.
