Send me a number and I’ll tell you my headcanons for:
( ❀ ━ 13. What gets them flustered? ;;
In a NEGATIVE way, it would be when everything seems to go wrong or she can’t do anything right… Then there’s failing at things she should be good at or use to be good at. Basically the main things that would probably fluster most anyone. In a POSITIVE way, David mentioning that he thinks she’s pretty or beautiful or… any compliment really. With others before, she’d usually laugh it off, smile, say thank you. But David actually makes her blush and smile gently in that vein. And when and if he tells her he loves her and how long he’s loved her, how much he’s loved her… That would certainly cause her to be flustered and I kind of look forward to it.
( ❀ ━ 15. What it takes to make them cry ;;
Extreme emotions basically. A feeling of hopelessness, anger because she can’t articulate herself or say the right thing because of her fears. The idea of losing Lilo or Stitch or David… In any way. The anniversary of her parents both their death and their marriage, the way she feels about David – how her parents were a great love and role models of that to her and how she thinks and feels her love for him is like that and how stupid she’s been to not capitalize on it. Considering she was just making herself lose him anyway despite her fears, which was why she was able to give him the journal and why she can now confront the fear and her feelings. It takes her awhile to get too upset, but when she’s tired and it’s late and everything falls apart? That’s when she cries. And it’s never easy to deal with.
( ❀ ━ 21. Turning points in their life ;;
ONE: THE FIRST TIME SHE EVER SURFED. She’d been learning for awhile on the sand ever since she asked her dad to teach her. He probably would have offered down the line, but she asked before it became a real thought – pretty much from the first time he let her sit on the board while he controlled it. But anyway, she finally got a chance to go on a board he’d bought her on her own. With the sea mist surrounding her and her body on guard, she fell, sure, but she got back on and when she rode that first wave on her own? She was hooked and knew it would be something she would cherish a lot more than she ever thought she had before. That freedom was something she’d never trade and she’s used it for fun and stress relief ever since.
TWO: THE DAY SHE LOST HER PARENTS. I think this one is fairly self-explanatory. When she lost her parents, she lost her support system. She lost the people that had always been there, and not only that, she lost her freedom and her ability to be herself. Instead, she had a sister to take care of, someone to look after. All parts of it affected her, but she always wished it never happened just so she could still have them in her life, not because of regret, not because she wanted things. She always wanted those things, but she misses them more than she could ever miss the chance of a surfing career or even college. Those things were unnecessary and would never make her feel as happy or loved as her parents did. And ever since instead, she’s been the parent and had to grow up far too soon.
THREE: THIS PAST BIRTHDAY. HER TWENTY-FOURTH. Turns out the fear of losing David in the way she wanted him overruled the fear of losing people in the long run. And so even if he didn’t get back to her the way she hoped, to tell her he loves her and they can work through her fears together, either way admitting even that way was big for her, and I have no doubt the first time she says it out loud when they talk again, that that will only further the turning point if not be one itself because not only then will she have faced her fears though she still has them, she’d have David. And finally have something she wants out of all of this. Which definitely is a good thing and might help her realize she can be a bit more selfish and nothing was wrong with that. Not one bit.
