For those of you who didn’t know, I suffered a nearly fatal Brain Aneurysm rupture early on this year. I have been posting about it a little on my facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Lopti.somelikeitblue?ref=hl), but I thought I should let you all know as well! I was in ICU for 14 days and in the hospital a total of 16 days. While I’m doing MUCH better than expected, I’m still not back to normal, which can be frustrating. But I’m starting to get back to my old self, slowly.
When I got to the hospital, they told me I only had three hours to live. Not only that, they also told me I only had about a 20% chance to recover. Thanks to God and amazing surgeons, I overcame all the odds and have been slowly regaining strength ever since. But since it is also a stroke, I have some odd neurological issues that I have to deal with on a daily basis. Some of those may never get better... but we’re all hoping for the best!
I just want everyone to know how IMPORTANT it is to get checked for aneurysms, especially if someone else in your family has had one. About 60% of people whose aneurysms rupture die, and a large portion of those remaining are paralyzed forever. It’s a miracle that I can still be independent to some extent. The problem with aneurysms is... most don’t have any symptoms until they rupture. Which is why it is critical to catch them before they rupture!
Please everyone. Take care of yourselves. If you have a sudden onset of an extremely bad headache, go to the ER right away! Your life is worth it! <3

Is it difficult to see in those black contacts?
The pics of me with black eyes are photoshopped. I havnt shelled out the money yet for new black scleras cuz i wanna wait a little closer to gishwhes/rose city comicon season so that they are still good to use for the Krampus season as well.
Sclera’s can be difficult to see in though depending on the type, and you can only wear them for a few hours at a time so your eyes can get some oxygen. There is a great youtube blogger and tumblr’r SomeLikeItBlue She has some great sclera videos and is an all around amazing cosplayer. Love her to death.
