You always hear stories of people who had no friends at school but then found their people in uni.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone describe the heartache that comes from always having had a bunch of really good friends throughout school that you basically hung out with every weekend and then slowly losing them after you graduate. It seems like no one ever talks about going to uni, moving out and finding your place in the world all the while you hear less and less from your friends. Every time you reach out you get some form of excuse for why they don’t have time, them having found their people and you’re just alone. You technically still have your old friends, albeit barely having contact with them, you have your flatmates and a loving girlfriend but you have no friends. No one to just be stupid with and enjoy the naivety of being young.
