why did this exchange in a youtube comment section make me want to cry
Weaving something today (nothing crazy just a little charm band for some wired headphones) and I made a mistake, tied a knot the wrong way causing a blip of the wrong color. I said to myself "well if it was perfect it'd steal my soul" sort of as a joke, to make myself feel better. then I thought, well, maybe that was the whole point? We have superstitions and sayings we pass down, and maybe this one was simply to make someone feel better about making a mistake. Perhaps that's obvious, but now I'm hyper aware of everyone who came before me, making tiny mistakes and making themselves feel better.
Not to out myself as a fan of post-apocalyptic eco-brutalism but goddamn do I love it when people embroider over top tears in clothing to make them pretty
