i mean to be the race, the joust, the battle, and the crown.

i intend to be more than just costly to lose. i am meant to be costly to earn.

“I can’t believe I’ve never had a hot toddy before,” Delia remarked, cradling her mug between her hands. It was never really cold in Night Vale, at least not while the sun was above the horizon, but there was still a crispness in the air that made her grateful for the mug’s warmth and the colorful scarf she’d stolen borrowed from one of her partners last time they were in town.

She took another sip of her drink, savoring it for a moment, then turned and smiled at Sam. “This was a great idea.”
