Summary:  Kurt Hummel is a college student/fashion magazine intern working at the Spotlight Diner when he meets a beautiful but difficult customer, who he will absolutely not date. Will he change his mind when he discovers just how much they have in common? Title taken from a lyric in the song "Latch" by Disclosure featuring Sam Smith (I highly recommend the acoustic version, which is linked in the story). Written for the 2018 Klaine Fic Exchange on tumblr for controlofwhatido who prompted, "Some sort of skank or badboy fic (can be either Kurt or Blaine) but not in high school. Maybe they meet in college or in NYC at the spotlight diner."

Lynne’s review:  I quite enjoyed this! There was no way Kurt was gonna be able to resist Blaine's charm and persistence.

“No.”

Darren pouts. Chris, mostly able to resist the puppy eyes now, after years of exposure to them, rolls his eyes and shakes his head.

“No,” he repeats more firmly.

If it was anyone else, that would be the end of it. Chris knows that his tone — when he gets it just right, the way he wants it — can be stronger than anyone would ever expect. And for other people in his life, that’s enough.

But not Darren. Like Chris is to Darren’s puppy eyes, Darren is absolutely impervious to Chris’s tone. That, or he’s just too stubborn to even bother acknowledging Chris’s refusal.
