What do I expect from my first year of college?

First, i wanted to make a diplomat from me from the first year of studying: reading a lot of books about this form of activity, studying the Chinese language and so on. Than, i understood that it would be impossible, because first of all, i need to improve my English knowlege.  Well, I`ll do all I need at all subjects, but English will be the “bee in my bonnet”.

Why am I here (at the Linguistics University of Nizhny Novgorod)?

In summer I thought a lot about my future studying. I had a plenty of variants: to study in St. Peterburg, or to study in Moscow, or in Nizhny Novgorod. Because of some objective reasons, I chose the last variant. Then, i decided that International Relations is the properest variant for me. After this i found the best universities with this specialiation in NN, and determined that LUNN`s programm is the most appropriate for me.

My first week at LUNN.

This week was very eventful for me. So much has happened, that`s why I have just an emotional boom! Of course, not everything was so swimmingly. We will analyze it later. But for now, let`s start.Firstly, the beginning of studies. Sometimes it feels like I'm back in my 7 years. Everything is so solemn and new. I think the others feel the same kind of impressions. It is not surprising, but I was amazed by my potential. Yes, I knew that I was entering the linguistic university, that I would need to get used to foreign speech, and  this  speech should become native for me, but I had never thought, that there was something like  a toggle in my head. Switching on this toggle, I transform myself into the ENG_MODE. Maybe, at this moment I recall all I`ve forgotten, because of the lack of practice. Unfortunately, there are some moments, when this toggle jams for some reasons. Thousands of minions in my brain are running seeking the solution of the problem, but there comes nothing but saying something absolutely absurd. So, I`ll take it in mind and I`ll improve it.Also, it is still very hard for me to get used to the location of campuses of LUNN, because I still can`t keep in mind that they are not in order. Alas, I didn`t have enough time to familiarize, `cause I had to arrive in Nizhniy Novgorod too late. In addition, that is the reason that I had to set stakes in the hostel so late.In spite of all of these, I admire the plenty of acquaintances, the level of studying and so on, that will make my university life – one of the best stages in my life.Glad, that after all of these I will be able to devote myself to my studies and to share my impressions here.
