We share our sickness -
Inexplicable bouts of nausea
From complicated emotions.
It crosses borders and reason.
A sense of dread
Keeps us connected, bonded.
Until one of us throws up.
Always asking, how are you?
Always warning, I'm sick.
Last night you spit blood in the sink
And I have yet to calm my stomach.
I wonder if all day you've hurt
Or if this time the feeling is my fault.
