yeah going to the gym is cool and all but have you ever had to walk up and down a flight of stairs while carrying a wooden set of stairs? How about dancing while removing any trace of oxygen from your lungs to belt out a high A whilst also wearing a corset and like- 10 other things that amount to 20 total pounds of clothes on your body? Or what about carrying a literal wall over your head like an ant and having to haul it over a fence that’s twice your height and praying that the poor souls on the other side aren’t crushed beneath it as they try and catch it?

I have done all of this in theatre #Sometimes multiple times #All our set pieces that we use EVERY YEAR are in storage on an upstairs balcony #So EVERY YEAR we have to go up multiple flights of stairs and weave through a minefield of precariously stacked shit to retrieve them #And then carry them BACK DOWN THE STAIRS #last year we had to carry a couch up there. And I nearly got decked in the back of the head with one of the legs #And then later that same fucking day I nearly got crushed by a fucking wooded wall #Because everybody else who was carrying it with me just decided to. Let go. At the same time. I was the only one holding it up.#Man we have so many injuries in our fucking productions. Somebody broke their foot running into a wall last year. And somebody got STABBED #Only lightly stabbed though. Just a little nick. STILL STABBED THOUGH LIKE SERIOUSLY WHOS BRIGHT IDEA WAS IT TO HAVE A REAL KNIFE AS A PROP #Idk I have such a heavy costume this year and I’m pissed about it.
