“Why would anyone ever ask Blake what she’s doing for Halloween? Callous idiots.”
🎤 for Addie!
Send 🎤 to catch my muse singing while they think nobody's around!
Time to put my metal on
The words came from her velvety lips like a lilting whisper. Adrastia's starlit eyes were closed. And why not? This was a moment to be savored.
Whose blood to spill? I don't know Whose side I'm on?
All of her hard work leading up to this day, this moment.
Two armies are coming at me Their flags and weapons look the same One tells the truth, the other's lying And they're both calling my name
The song was perhaps a misnomer. Her mind was already made up. It had been for a long time. But this was perhaps the last chance she had to back out. Before she donned her blonde wig, white dress, and porcelain mask.
This is how villains are made This is how villains are made Ooh, ooh No one ever starts that way But this is how villains are made
Her own path to villainy had been laid out before her. It was something that she had never shied away from. It didn't matter who's side she chose. Who she chose, or was forced, into serving. She was a killer all the same. It was all she was good for.
Time to put my metal on Whose neck to cut? I don't know Whose side I'm on?
Leaning forward, Adrastia gripped the edge of her vanity. The polished wood splintered and cracked from the sheer force that the huntress was applying. The song continued to spill from her lips in a raspy, panting voice - much unlike her normal crooning.
There lies my sanity There goes my mind, I could not save I don't trust what i see right in front of me I don't know who to betray
Unbidden, the faces of all those she would betray flashed through Adrastia's mind. Some stung more than others. Her father and Ianus could go fuck themselves. They were dead men walking. But Ren, Liane, Leta... they didn't deserve what she was about to do.
A pretty black bow flashed behind her eyelids and Adrastia's entire body shuddered. Her voice raised as she continued to sing, as if she were crying out in pain.
Aah, aah, ooh This is how villains are made This is how villains are made Oooh
Blake had abandoned her. She had left her at their crossroads. Had turned down her begging. The only person to love her like she did... but Blake ran away from her all the same. Adrastia hadn't known what she'd expected.
It wasn't like she blamed Blake. Well, too much. Okay, a lot. But Adrastia could see the logic. Anyone with any sense could see that Mistral's Spear was poison.
So easily we're persuaded When the lines are blurred and faded No one ever starts that way
But she started that way. She was raised as such from before she could even form any memories. Raised to kill. Raised to take care of problems. For Mistral, they said! For justice! They got their weapon... She got cheated out of her childhood...
But this is how villains are made This is how villains are made
No, there was no going back now. It was all going down tonight. By the time the clock chimed midnight, the Mistrali Council would be dead in its entirety. The city would be burning. It would be left as a crater, easy pickings for the Grimm...
Her path was laid out before her. The path that she CHOSE, for once in her life.
It was fortunate that Adrastia had simply been singing and not speaking any of these thoughts out loud. For she was completely unawares of the golden eyes boring into her from the crack in her door.
@sometimesshattered continued from here
“Because they are incompetent, whoever they might be.” Renatus spoke dryly, if quite loudly.
It had become increasingly obvious that Blake hadn’t meant to call his scroll. Considering that she hadn’t greeted him whatsoever and then continued speaking to... someone or someones without so much as acknowledging his presence.
Now, was it inappropriate to eavesdrop on a conversation not meant for him? Yes. But as Consul of Rozumari, it would be the height of foolishness if he didn’t seize such opportunities. Just what was going down in the state of Menagerie?
“Civil war? Hmm. That sounds quite problematic. I advise avoiding them at any cost. Trust me, I would know.”
Lapis: Would you take a bullet for me? Blake: No, because if I have time to jump in front of a bullet, you have time to move.
@sometimesshattered
I'll find a way I'm confused though But I think I can try I will save your life I will save your life I'll try for you
@sometimesshattered
It turns out, they have seen each other before, during the Battle of Beacon, he was the one, who with Yang, fought Adam, though given he had to get to the Vault underneath Beacon as quick as he could to stop Cinder and save Amber and all before it was too late, by the look of things now, he made it, yet, a proper greeting between him and Blake wasn’t done...until now.
“Hmm, I believe you’re the friend Yang told me about before we kicked that guy’s behind, you okay?”
Skarloey remembered seeing Blake back then, of course, Zwei is partially to thank, since it was that corgi’s sneak attack bite on Adam’s leg that gave them the window they needed.
Helping her up, he made sure he didn’t do any damage to Blake, she already seemed annoyed by something.
“You must be Blake if you’re who I’ve been told about, it’s nice to be meeting you proper.”
