Okay I don't think there's any way to spoiler specific text, but I had heard one route is the gaslight route (with like actual research and everything). And I had assumed, with Sosotte's memory problems, that she would be the one being gaslit. But now that I see her personality, that could go either way! Which is exciting!

So we have successfully amused them both, but they are on to our act. Which if we don't remember, and we still? ooh this could get nasty. Potentially. Maybe.

Just noticed the ! and it's interesting that yesterday's Sosotte recommends coffee with Iris. Not just that she wants to, but that she recommends for us to.

Okay, I noticed this a couple times before, but some of the text is darker than the default. Considering the bits of bold text in isat I'm going to assume this is significant. Maybe another headmate? But it's way too early to say anything for sure.

Actually, with Betz saying they put eyes on the things because we have eyes on our hat, makes me realise we don't exactly see Sosotte. We just know the drawing she drew of herself in the scrapbook.

pokémon platinum lorelocke.

got in a sticky situation with an Onix. sent in hatred for a clean switch to foxtrot to escape, so uh. first death. farewell hatred, you will not be missed.

Barrithmus evolved. Sadly, he cannot learn a second fighting move. At least rock smash lowers defence. And being fire/fighting means it's not a big problem to tackle the gym like this, I think.

(Kovu and Foxtrot should not be fighting. If they enter battle then we're fucked.)

First Geodude, and this isn't exactly going to plan. Deadweight missed a lot, it was embarrassing. And now Roark is sending Cranidos second? Yeesh. Um. Sentinal! An ally has made a tactical error! Sent Kiara in for the intimidate, checked what mold breaker was and saw the Cranidos has Pursiut. And Kiara was on 5hp. Because I stupidly had him chip away at the first Geodude before switching to Deadweight. I used a potion, but he still died. (Should've just sent Barrithmus to begin with...) Yep, and Barrithmus had zero problems with the Cranidos and the Onix. Rip Kiara.

So what does this mean for Kovu? It says "if one of the pokémon dies the Wedlocke ends at the end of battle" ah, since it also mentions can't be wedlocked ever again, I don't think I lose Kovu as well. Wedlocke =/= soullink.

Deadweight, buddy, I can't have you missing several times in a row. There's only so much cave where I'm allowed to level you. You can't be wasting your turns like this.

Deadweight is dead. Because "oh the psyducks have only been using scratch so they probably don't know any water moves yet" and my friend, they did in fact know a water move.

I feel like once I've had the first death, everything goes downhill from there. But! We are going to attempt to stay positive, because the challenge is not over until it's over.

Route 204: Bidoof. A Fucking Bidoof of all things. 1) The Hunted Beaver If you fail to catch Bidoof/Bibarel in the first 2 turns it will maim itself and from now on could only have two damaging Physical moves and no Special moves, and you get an item called Castoreum which can be sacrificed once to 50% try and prevent or cure a lore rule effect that makes a pokemon stunned/sick/fatigued/cursed. If you fail to catch Bidoof/Bibarel in the 2 turns after that, you still get the Castoreum, but Bidoof/Bibarel escapes and you can no longer catch it.

... The fuck is this lorerule? Shit. Okay. Let's see how quick I catch it. 2nd turn, fine. Which means... no active lore rule for the fucking Bidoof. (It's not Bidoof's fault I hate it, just that damned Bibarel episode got repeated a lot). His name is... Kaych.

Ravaged Path: Zubat. Again. 3) Chosen of Camazotz When you catch this pokemon you must sacrifice a pokemon or release Zubat/Golbat/Crobat. While this pokemon is in your party you may cancel the lore rule of every other Dark and Ghost pokemon in your party and the effect of lore rules of Dark and Ghost type pokemon as you catch them. Won’t willingly follow a commoner and will only lead the party or switch in after a Royal in battle (unless forced to switch after a commoner by a move or by another rule) - ignore this as long as it holds a King’s Rock.

Okay, so this one does not matter yet. At first I thought I'd gotten the same thing again and was having a small panic I hadn't been following the rule with my first Shinx. But no, everything is fine, and we're not even a Luxray yet. His name is Loewe.

Now, I don't actually think Barrithmus can handle the windworks on his own, so it's levelling up time again. And, I have no reason to ignore any of them, so. I'm gonna be here a little while.

Lost Kaych because fuck pursuit. Kovu evolved, so I went to the shop to figure out how much things sell for. Stardust = 1k, Heart Scale = 50, Yellow Shard = 100, Pearl = 700, Big Pearl = 3750, Honey = 50, battle items are 250-325. tiny mushroom =250, yeah no, i just. Don't have enough. Not without throwing away stuff I'll likely need. Um. Well Shit. Kovu has to go in the box until I find some more stuff. I really should have, uh, worked this out before I let him evolve. Lost Loewe to a crit (he was in the fucking green).

At this point, my party is just Foxtrot and Barrithmus. I. Am just going to go see if Barrithmus can in fact solo these windworks. Wish him luck.

Turtwig - Descendant of the World Turtle. Unusable? Or, am I meant to ignore the tackle, lose the first rival fight, and catch on full health... Chimchar - Eager Trainee <Quest>. A tad annoying but fine. Piplup - Emperor Penguin. Boring for it to not matter yet.

So, I am going with another Chimchar. This one won the rival fight. Hooray. I have named him Gwythyr.

R202 - Starly - 5) Griffin Ancestry

Welp. I'm. Not pleased with this but, I just won't evolve (if I remember to cancel it) until I'm sure I have enough. Her name is Creiddylad. ... Look at how nice and specific her IVs are already.

(Do I actually understand the game well enough to worry about IVs and EVs? Absolutely not. Do I like spreadsheet and formulae and tracking them anyway? Yes 🥰)

Her first fight and she defeats a Lv2 Bidoof all by herself 🥹 I'm so proud.

After she reached Lv3, I thought she could handle another Lv2 Bidoof. It crit. Creiddylad is dead now. Well. Shit. Off to a great start aren't we.

R203 - Abra (fuck) - 3) Secluded Monk This pokemon is a master over its own body and has freed itself from earthly needs. Can’t use healing items on it. Can’t be Wedlocked. Must know Calm Mind/Recover if possible.

Holy shit I actually caught it! His name shall be Miracle. He uh, can't do anything yet... but! I believe he will be able to do great things! Eventually.

Oreburgh Gate: Zubat. 2) Blood Thirst If this pokemon kills a pokemon in battle, it must stay in and kill a second pokemon (if that trainer has any). If it is switched out before that it is considered fatigued and can't be used in battle until you sacrifice either a nonbought revive or items worth 5000 pokeyen.

Well, that just sounds inconvenient. And a good way to get it killed. His name is... Harold.

R207 - Geodude - Troll Blood

Same as last one, at least it's actually night this time. I kinda miss Deadweight, he was good. This one shall be named Lightweight Liteweight in memory.

Oreburgh Mine - Zubat - Blood Thirst
