hello there :) like many people I'm sure, least of all possible mistakes is one of my favorite pieces of writing, and among the many many things I love about it, two of my favorite things about it is your characterizations of Mycroft and especially John. I don't know if you ever recc fic, but I was wondering if you got inspirations for either of them from other work, or if there was other renderings of them you particularly liked? I would love to read them!
All my fic recs are at my pinboard -- http://pinboard.in/u:pru

Hello! I saw in your faq you had a link for parade's end downloads, but it seems most of those links are dead. I was wondering if you had any links for streaming? Thanks so much!
Hello! Yes I'm sorry those links are very old I should delete them.... mh try here maybe?
Hello! I have a random Italy question. I'm in an comparative politics class in the US, and we've been talking a lot about the Italian political system, and that's its got some flaws, but most everyone is focusing on the people/scandal/corruption and not the system itself and HOW it's flawed, or what could be done to fix it. I've seen you answer similar questions , and I guess I'm just curious to what you think, and if there's another system you'd like better for Italy. Thanks!
oh hello um yes good question, it’s really complicated
it’s true that we have lots of scandals and corruption, and by lots i mean probably more than someone would expect from a country like italy. politicians get arrested every day for fraud, being linked to the mafia etc etc and well, that’s unfortunatelly radicated in our culture now, most people think that italy is experiencing a crisis in moral values in general which obviously got worse when the economic crisis started in ‘08
what has been happening in the past few years has been compared to what happened in the early ‘90 with tangentopoli (i don’t know how many details you want so i’m just gonna link you to wikipedia, read that if you want) which is one of the darkest time of the italian republic
also the voting system we currently have (wanted by berlusconi in 2005) is just AWFUL and needs to be changed. that’s the first thing i would do tbh. it’s really complicated to explain and i’m not really an expert but what bugs me the most personally is the political parties are the ones who decide which candidates are gonna seat in the parliament once their party has been elected (as italian citizens, we technically only vote for the party, not even the one politician who’s gonna be elected as prime minister if that party gets enough votes).
in the past (and i’m sure in the next political election as well) this law has lead to (currupted) politicians making deals with certain parties to enter the parliament even if they weren’t affiliated with that party in the first place and stuff like that.
silvio berlusconi majorly contributed to both of these problems, thanks to his popularity (we did vote him 5 times after all) and illegitimate use of his power (he owns three public television networks, a bunch of radios, newspapers and even a football team). so the other thing we need to do is not to vote him again.
i’m sorry if this is really confusing but it would take a jurist to explain the whole thing correctly
so yeeah we’re really fucked up
