It's raining... [CLOSED SKYE+STELLA]
It didn't feel right. It felt wrong, oh so very wrong. Just the other day, a little, meek and nice girl had occupied this room. A caring little soul who wanted everyone to be happy even though she was on the verge of dying. A wonderful little girl that Stella had called her sister.
With her own hands. Stella had digged, carried and buried her own sister. Something she never wanted to do. But was the world a fair one? Of course not. It was cruel and she hated it.
As if in trance, Stella moved towards Nui's bed in a slow pace, not actually fully closing the door behind her and clutching Tigger to her chest. This was the last gift she had received from her beloved sister, the poor girl who had been lied to, who had been toyed with, who had been manipulated in the most cruelest ways possible. A cute, little tiger plushie with a blue ribbon tied to its neck.
Taking all the time in the world – it's not like they had much to do in this godforsaken hotel anyway – she reached the bed and the nightstand, at first simply staring at the latter one, before she pulled out something out of her lab coat pocket. It was an eyepatch. A soft pink-colored eyepatch that had a beautifully crafted rose on it. Stella looked at it and brushed over gently over it, before she carefully placed it on top of the nightstand. This one would have certainly suited Nui and she wanted to leave it here, tell her that Stella still cared for her.
A deep breath was taken and her eye darted around the room, falling on top of the desk. Quietly, she went to the mentioned furniture and looked at it's contents, her heart falling when she saw the broken Kimiwarui. Not long ago, she had helped Nui to glue all it's pieces back... Stella felt the guilt weighing her down again and her grip around Tigger tightened. She mouthed a silent 'I'm sorry' at the broken doll or to be more precise, the sister she couldn't save. Why couldn't she protect her sister like promised? Why couldn't she get her out of here before anything of that happened? Why?
Next to the broken pieces was a diary. Nui's diary. You could tell just from the looks of it. At first, she simply stared at it and chewed on her lips, then swallowed her spit down and spoke quietly into the room:“Tut mir leid, Schwesterherz, ich hoffe, du bist nicht allzu böse, wenn ich das lese...“
With that, she took the diary into her hands and moved to the bed, sitting down and placing Tigger on top of her lap. She took another deep, albeit slightly shaken breath before opening up the diary and started to read it.
By the time Stella finished with the entries, she discovered the letters that were adressed to various people – herself included. The blacksmith swallowed again, already shaking, but taking the letter nontheless. As she read it, her trembling got only worser and a small whimper escaped her throat. Her vision got blurry and her eye felt wet- no. Not now. Not here. Not ever.
Stella shook her head and blinked, trying to regain her composure, but failing horribly to do so. With shaky hands, she placed both the diary and the letter on the nightstand right beside the eyepatch and stroked Tigger's head, absentmindedly staring into nothing in particular.
It was silent in the room for a long time, before Stella opened her mouth, now her eye focused on Tigger:“... How are ya, Nui? I... I hope you are doin' fine wherever you are now... 'M sure y'are at a nice place, far away from this hellhole here... A-At least y'are with yer mum now, right? Surely, she's gonna be sad, t-that her darling died so soon, b-but at least y-ya can finally hug her again...“
She shuffled a little bit and took a another shaky breath, shutting her eye for a moment, before she opened it again. „I-I promise t-that I'm gonna... take care o' everythin'. L-Leave it ta me, okay, s-sis? Don't worry 'bout me, j-just be happy, please, I-I just want you to be-“, a choke escaped her throat and she bit her lips, cursing herself for being this weak. Cursing herself for not being strong enough to protect anyone. Cursing the world for the fucked up things that are happening.
„... Tigger misses you, y-y'know? S-Same goes for me. I... Why are you gone...? Why... d-did this have to happen... C-Come back... p-please... I... I'm sorry f-fer bein' such a terrible sister... I... y-you tell me I couldn't have done anythin', b-but I could have... helped you... I could, I should have! I'm... so sorry... I couldn't... protect you... I'm... I'm...“ A horrified expression tainted her face now, trembling so much like she never did before.
And then it came all out.
"I'msorryI'msorryimsorryimsorryimsorryimsorryestutmirleidestutmirleidtutmirleidtutmirleidtutmirleidtutmirleidtutmirleidBITTEVERGIBMIR!"
As she uttered her apologies and clinged onto the tiger plushie for dear life, she felt a sensation she hadn't experienced for a long time.
Tears were uncontrollably streaming down her face as she let out a pained scream, burying her face into Tigger, not caring about anything anymore. Her strength was gone, her composure lost, her heart broken.
