Serge Serum is an Artist-in-Residence at SomoS Arts Berlin, creating vibrant psychological portraits and figurative mixed-media paintings buzzing with nervous energy and visual inventions.
The Digitalia exhibition with Rah Eleh and Joshua Vettivelu was developed by Indo-Canadian curator Noor Bhangu during a Curatorial Residency at SomoS in 2020. "Digitalia" invites us to look at "the ways in which the digital, marginal, and genital intersect." South-Korean artist Jiyeon Kim conceived her Meme Paintings in early 2020 during her Berlin artist residency. These collage-style paintings are the result of an extensive composition process that combines acrylic-painted fragments with digital parts that have been printed and pasted to the canvas.
