“Sining Lila parodies pop song [Fifth Harmony’s] Worth It to criticize Aquino regime.”
PNoy Outbrings his final SONA
Philippine President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III delivers his sixth and last State of the Nation Address (SONA) at Batasan Complex, Quezon City, July 27, 2015.
Speaking in Filipino in a speech lasting for two hours and 13 minutes, President Aquino began his SONA by showcasing the disparity of his Administration to that of the former President now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
In his speech, Aquino highlighted his major achievements covering the wide-ranging areas of economy, the fight against infrastructure, Armed forces modernization, health and education and social services.
Passage of Anti-dynasty law was also stated. Aquino recalled that he had once objected to the ideas of depriving a person of the right to seek an elective post because of his or her family name. According to him, there is something wrong in giving corrupt families the opportunity to enjoy political power to life.
President Aquino also said that Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) is the "most important” of the legislation that has yet to be passed by Congress.
Moreover, Aquino thanked the past and present Cabinet Officials who he said have been instrumental in his efforts to institute reforms in the government. Of all the officials, it was Mar Roxas for whom Aquino had the fondest of words.
Final words, the President stated that better development in his administration is only the beginning of a country that will not be cowed, instead will stand as a bacon of justice and resolve in the global community.
SONA 2015: Towards a Straight Path
By: Angela Sofia Galano
BACKGROUND
On the 27th of July, President Benigno Aquino III gave his final State of the Nation Address (SONA). He faces the congress and the countrymen one more time to report on the state of the country. In the past five years, the government has taken the oath to fight corruption, eradicate poverty, and teach his ‘bosses’ to hope once more.
At least it’s his last
Five years ago he promised that every Filipino will take the road of “daang matuwid”
For more than five years under Aquino administration, it was a journey of unsure “daang matuwid”
Benigno Simeon Aquino III has been the father of the nation, it is quiet fair to say that in his leadership. the country experienced a “little leap” from where it was when GMA was the president, but that “little leap” had been experienced by all Filipino or by some.
LIE. He needs to lie and brag lies to leap the hope of his countrymen.
Aquino says that Philippines has been tagged as “the rising tiger” in Asia and it has grow 6.3% - yes, sounds ideal but why do unemployment continue to rise? maybe because instead having our stable industry, especially in agriculture, given that more than one half of our population is farmers, maybe it would be realistic however, the President only counted the outsourcing of BPO companies and the OFW remittances saved his 6.3% because in reality, the economics should be measured through GDP.
Indeed, the President is fond of changing definition of such terms and words just PDAF,DAP and in the essence of Pork Barrel which he undeniably had the much share of it, but because he said in his recent SONA that corruption lessened in his administration, so why is he still there in the position along with his gabinet? of course, there were Revilla, Enrile and Estrada together with Janet Napoles who were known as “corrupt” in the country but are they the only ones?
“For my part: we can only move on once justice has been attained,” he said.
But how can he managed not to bring the 44 members of SAF who sacrificed their lives just because of the misled operation of Marwan in Mamasapano?
He had failed to at least “promised” that these heroes would get justice, so does it mean that the country will remain at its low and will increase injustices as it happening already?
Aquino SONA was quiet fair in showing his good sides but I think, for us to moved on,he should at least cite his worst.
Personally, I am not saying that Aquino should have done it perfectly, nobody is perfect and no one could make it perfect either but I was looking for a good, just and right governance under with a system that will help the government to be a justifiable for the people, by the people and of the people.
For me, at the end of the day, at least it was a relief.
Aquino will leave his position with excitement yet more than anything it was at least his last SONA.
One year to go.
Si GMA pa din ang may sala.
The important achievements that our president highlighted in his SONA are the express ways project like CAVITEX, NLEX, SLEX and others that he mentioned that these express ways are currently on his projects that even when he’s not seated as the president there will be still budget around 2017-2020 onwards to finish this project. The health benefits of many Filipinos especially to those who are in need. Philhealth plan become more capable and our president adds more budget on it. The lack of electricity in some urban areas were now added and people who lives there become their life easier especially to students and workers. The Road Repairing in some areas that highways are still not yet done but the president had made it possible to finish it and now highways are now accessible to many public transportations. P-NOY said that our country is called one of the rising tiger’s in ASIA quotable quote by someone and our country had lessen OFW people. He was also against Political Dynasty. On the past years of his presidency he was always involve in MEDIA that the surveys says that the trust rate of P-NOY was always low.
If I will rate president P-NOY I would give him 3.0 a fair grade why? Because I think somehow he had made improvements unlike on the past presidents who have seated in our country except for Marcos. I think he had fix some problems in our country.
SONA I’m not a fan of watching since for the last 5 years of it. It is the first time I watched SONA but I observed P-NOY mentioned about the PNP but he didn’t mentioned the SAF45 people who died and sacrifice to our country. He keep on praising the people who’s working with him but why not those who become heroes to our country. He reminisce the past problems in our country like ZTE scandal, HELLO GARCI and others. Does he even say that he had done a good thing and he’s one of the best president? And he even told that he was against political dynasty and I was thinking why the Binay’s are guilty with that and they keep on reacting on media. P-NOY said that our country has one of the highest tax and he insist that those taxes will go to the budgets that are needed.
#SONA2015
got internet for a while and i just have to share the best shit that happened last monday in the People’s SONA, and that was when I and my org-mates and co-medics got caught in the flow of people and ended up joining the pushing against the police line, i look up and see that i was two rows away from the police. and i thought, ‘is this it?’ and continued pushing until we were told to go back since we’re medics lol.
