This religious lady is having the time of her life!
The way they dwell on their first meeting!!!!
This very devout woman imagining St Sebastian that she constantly prays to becoming the dentist she's developing a thing for?
AAAA
I am selectively rewatching Gabriela, and I forgot how much I adored Sinhazinha x Osmundo, my tragic tragic darlings. She's a religious woman trapped in a loveless, abusive marriage with zero joy or pleasure of any kind (she refuses to even let her husband see her naked because it's a sin and about the nicest thing I can say about him is he complies) who meets the town's new dentist and discovers love and passion but...
I love themmmm
Oh my God, people make Gerusa x Mundinho vids from Gabriela!!!! This made my day!!! They are one of my fave telenovela OTPs!!!!
Funny thing is Gabriela is very very loosely (super loosely; “inspired by” would be more accurate) by one of my favorite novels - Gabriela by Jorge Amado (one of my three most favorite writers) and I love both though they are very different - the novel is basically a year in the life of a town and changes that happen. Mundinho is a reformer outsider in both but Gerusa does not exist (and honestly there is no plot; it’s not that type of novel) but I am so glad someone who read it clearly shared my epic crush on him or at least realized he’s crushable so giving him a love story would make bank.
PS to continue “different country media is different” obviousness - it’s kinda funny because Gerusa is a teen who’s in convent school (though she’s certainly old enough to be courted and married by societal standards of the time and place) and Mundinho is in his late 20s I believe and that’s not in the least an issue - they got plenty of other issues (her grandfather is the leader of the conservative movement he fights) but age gap is not one of them.
our lady of sorrows
