Well...it depends on what breeds you actually like and also on your own temperament. If you are a calm person and it's your first cat you probably should try something like ragdoll cat. It's so cute and friendly - you'll never be disappointed with it.
If you are more energetic and sociable, it could be better to choose abyssin or oriental cats as they are very human-oriented and constantly want your attention.
