The Hollow Knight’s wandering has taken them from the confusing streets of Isola and into the wilderness, trailing after a winding river. There’s a comfort in the stillness out here, even if these plants are still strange to them. But the landscape shifts eventually to crumbled buildings, their architecture jutting out in ways unnatural and indicative of catastrophe.
But the Hollow Knight finds themself not minding all that much. Here, too, it is quiet. Even the sun in its harshness does not seem so bad here. Or perhaps the Knight is beginning to realize the radiant light is not harmful in this strange place. Still, they prefer to keep to the shadows as they wander Yesteryear.
They begin to realize the streets are littered with holes. A comforting dark right under their feet. They work up the courage wander out from the dark and peer into a large crevice that they may be able to fit into, but they pause when they gaze inside. It isn’t all that deep, and there’s something laying at the bottom. Large and decidedly not insectoid in appearance. But this one is alone... Curiosity sets in, the Hollow Knight carefully lowering themself down to investigate the fallen figure.
