unfortunately it’s not JUST rich old straight white men, I know more than a few people who are neither old, nor rich, nor men, who vote republican simply because they’re too stupid to think critically about anything happening in this country. these people love to be told what to do and how to think cuz it relieves them of personal responsibility, it makes them feel content, and thus the hate and bigotry republicans spew really speaks to them on a deep level cuz it’s always easier to “blame the *insert minority group*”
my mom’s blue collar friend voted republican last election and I point blank asked her WHY and she said matter-of-factly “well, we gotta build the wall cuz the mexicans are taking our jobs”
it’s not that educational resources aren’t available, it’s just that some people really truly don’t care about (non-white) human lives. they want to believe in whatever hatred drives them, and that’s why they vote republican, because republicans are the only ones validating their bigotry
so yep, to iterate, people who vote republican are fundamentally evil people
