Wait wait wait, the three ingredients that Metatron used for the spell that closed heaven and made the angels fall was the bow of a cupid (angels who create a love bond between two people), the heart of a Nephilim (the offspring of a human/angel coupling) and, the grace of an angel? See, one of those things is not quite like the others. I may be connecting the dots a little late but wouldn't it make sense if the last ingredient was the grace of an angel... who is in love with a human? That's why Metatron needed Castiel specifically.
