The pair walked alone through the rubble and ruin of what could have been a city, once. Their hands were held together, swinging softly between them as if the entire world hadn’t gone to absolute shit.
Sonya giggled. “That’s a big rock.” she said, pointing to one particular stone out of the piles of wreckage surrounding them.
“It is.” Newt said, reaching down to pick it up, turning it over in his fingers. He turned to Sonya. “Marry me?”
“You are such a dork.”
