I saw this drawing of a Sonic O.C. created by Julia Kaye on tumblr and thought it was hilarious. Then I saw that Sonic Prime voice actor Deven Mack himself voiced a line-read!

So of course I had to do the next best thing and animate it!

I think the best part about being an animator is that animation takes SO LONG that I am completely incapable of following trends.

While some people might think that’s a negative, it also means that I am unburdened by the need to follow the algorithm and pump out “content” to grow my audience.

Instead I just work on what makes ME happy. If I wanna spend 3 weeks animating a cursed Sonic/Garfield hybrid only to immediately flip the next couple weeks animating a Zelda commercial, then so be it! I can spend 6 months animating a Minecraft Story Mode horror video then switch to animating a My Brother My Brother And Me gag. I can animate a crazy Amazing Digital Circus chase scene then do a heartfelt I Don’t Want to Be A Magical Girl short.

I’ve done practically 0 advertising for my page or YouTube channel. The people who like the content I make will find me one way or another. And I think that’s awesome.

I’m so happy I can just make the stuff I think is cool and fun and not have to be burdened with the need to churn out “content” for clicks.

…. Granted it would be nice if I was making ANY sort of money off all this lol
