Random bits of knitting; the hat is for a friend, the baby sweater is so I'm prepared for the next baby who wants a pink knitted jacket, and the scarf is a gift for my uncle to give to my cousin.

I finished two shawls in the past couple of days. This one is Charollais, by Corinna Ferguson. ( https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/charollais ) I love the way it's turned out. I didn't have quite enough of the yarn, so I made my life complicated and did the edging in intarsia. It's pretty, and something only other knitters will ever notice. Sewing in all those ends will be a nightmare, but it'll give me something to do on the ride across the country to our new home. Hey, @justice-turtle, I'm pretty sure this is one of the yarns I got from you. I hope you like what I made from it.

I'm starting my holiday knitting on time this year! These are both brioche knitting, which is a fun technique, producing a reversible, thick and cozy fabric. The blue scarf is for my uncle and the mauve-and-cream is going to be a cowl for my mother-in-law.

I'm making my holiday gifts now (for once I'm starting on time!!). My MIL is getting a version of a cowl I have and love and which she tried on the last time she visited.

I'm making it in Malabrigo Finito, which is so amazingly soft... I'm using up scraps and adding in some of the last whole ball I've got. It's a little more colorful than she usually wears, but I'm pretty sure she'll like it anyway.

I finished a shawl! I blocked it last night and it was huge. I haven't sewn in the ends yet, because I can't wait to wear it. Hudson Valley MKAL on Ravelry, in Knit Picks Palette yarn. I have more than enough yarn left to make fingerless mitts.
