Rough sketch of a song I started writing yesterday. The songwriting prompt was “I should know”. For the lyrics, I began by looking at pictures of Biblical art on Tumblr and writing a verse for each image. Then I cut up the verses, mixed them up, and started writing a love song based on the images I found in the text.
Every day for the past few months, I’ve been taking song sketches and developing them a bit more—working out the structure and also making a rough sketch of the instrumentation.
Here’s one I worked on today. This is only the second time I’ve played it this way and the first time I’ve sung it this way, so it’s still very much in process with some bad notes and awkward timing.
