A question for Sonic and Marvel fans (DC fans are invited as well, though)
Earlier this year, it was announced DC and SEGA would release a crossover comic where Sonic characters would carry the mantle of superheroes from the DC comics. Quite a few months later, I saw someone asking "If Marvel and SEGA did that kind of collab, what Marvel characters would they mash up with Sonic characters?" on the r/SonicTheHedgehog subreddit. This reminded me of the amount of Sonic fanart where its main characters would take various Marvel characters' places. It also reminded me of that one time in the early-to-middle Archie comics when Sonic went through a bunch of alternate universes and one of them was blatantly inspired by Marvel: in that universe, its local versions of Sonic and Robotnik were Stealth and Professor Egg, a Spider-Man pastiche and a villain very similar to the Green Goblin but with some inspiration from Doctor Octopus. All of this, in turn, also reminded me of the work of "codetrillogy", who took the Stealth AU from the Archie comics and expanded it with more Sonic characters turned into Marvel-inspired superheroes.
So now I'm gonna post here a question similar to the one from that Reddit post:
In a Sonic X Marvel crossover, what Marvel character would each Sonic character be?
I'm aware that most fan-made works have Sonic be either Spider-Man (just like that Stealth AU from the Archie comics) or Captain America (which is actually much more frequent), and we must admit the choices of Marvel characters for the rest of the Sonic cast will heavily depend on which one is chosen to be represented by Sonic himself. So I'll invite you people to share how each of you would mash up the Marvel and Sonic casts, but I'll also post a poll specifically for Sonic, and from there we could start building the rest of the cast for this hypothetical crossover with Marvel:

I already came up with ideas for a few characters, depending on whether Sonic is Spider-Man or Captain America. But I'll talk about that in a reblog to this post after we're done with all this.
