I feel like every time I prep an update, the world seems to be going through a new and extreme crisis. Everything has felt extremely thick and heavy lately, and I just want to acknowledge the feeling and the moment before I dive into a sea of updates and self-promotion pretending like everything is fine. It’s not. Folks are hurting, and with a new war adding to the chaos and uncertainty of things, all I can say is take some time to appreciate the people around you because tomorrow is not promised. Today, I’m listening to “Keep Your Head To The Sky” by Earth, Wind, and Fire to help soothe my nervous system. May it bring you some relief as you read this email and continue on with your day. ❤️
I’ve been finding my joy where I can get it, and I encourage you to do the same if time, space, and energy allow. Last week, I served as co-grand marshal of the 39th annual Art Car Parade. What a trip! It was a rainy day, but an experience I wont forget. Big love to the folks on the @PhishingForPhuckery boat car for having me, and thank you to all the volunteers and organizers that made it all possible. Checkout the Paper City Mag recap here
In case you missed it, The Suffers were recently featured in the debut episode of “The Sound Of Texas”, a travel show in partnership with American Songwriter Magazine. Watch the full episode by clicking here or the video below.
Since you read this far, can I put you on to three artists I think you should listen to this week?
Let me start with my friend and frequent collaborator, Son Little. He just released a new album called “Cityfolk” and I sing background vocals on "Be Better" and "It's Your World".
Artist number two is my friend from New Orleans, Jelly Joseph. Her latest single is called, “Thru The Roof”:
Artist number three is my dear friend and collaborator, Sara Van Buskirk. check out her latest single, “Comfortable Lie” below. I had the honor of co-producing this album, and I can’t wait for the world to hear it:
Click on any of the artist images to hear their music. Thank you for your support, and thank you for reading. I approved my solo album vinyl production last month, so I’m patiently waiting for the opportunity to update all my Kickstarter supporters on next steps. Thank you again, and I’ll chat soon.
With love,
Kam
