Old Rider Bar with Sonny Gamble @criminaltypes
Although he still tried to believe in the notion of good in the world, he'd long since lost sight of optimism. Especially when it came to hoping that people would come forward with information about cases he was trying to piece together. He had little hope anyone involved with The Reapers would see him as a viable option for their faith or trust but he'd have been poor at his job if he didn't at least try. Shoulders squared slightly before he entered the bar, determined to not look as though he'd shrink away from friction. Like he was the kind of man who they could depend on. Almost as soon as he entered gazes either darted away from him or looked at him with distaste. Resolve tightened and he headed over to the bar, pulling out a stool next to the one man who seemed to be too lost in his own thoughts to even glance his way. The seat wasn't taken, not yet, hand resting on the back out of something close to politeness. As though he wasn't going to take it under false pretences. "Detective Ward." Hand half extended in some kind of greeting, voice kept somewhat low when he figured he didn't want to have to contend with several voices at once. "We're looking into the fire that happened, wondering if you had seen or heard anything that might be useful to our investigation." The way the man was holding himself seemed to suggest that he'd certainly seen some things but he wasn't about to try to guess the source of someone else's demons.
