Along with the Bible, in my house we read A Course in Miracles, Emilie Cady, Millard Fillmore, Elisabeth Cady Stanton, and Ernest Holmes. My aunt is a Unity minister, and she used to be on the board at Silent Unity HQ in Missouri. I still get the sunday school songs stuck in my head sometimes. :D I stopped going to Unity churches years ago, and I identify more as a Buddhist than a Christian these days, but I still read A Course In Miracles and Emilie Cady on a very regular basis.
It's sad that so many people think that Christian Science is all about parents refusing medical care for their children. (Spoiler Alert: we're not all like that, not by a long shot!!) The way I see it, Christian Science is about seeing God in everyone - yeah, everyone - and treating them accordingly. Unity is so awesome. God Is Love, and So Are We!
