❝Is that so…I didn’t expect to find answers right off the bat. My investigations are truly never THAT simple.❞
The infamous Ryo Asuka replied moreso to himself than the girl before him. The professor of anthropology has recently been receiving many messages about urban legends revolving around the small town of Kurōzu-cho. His loyal followers repeated something along the lines that the town is somehow cursed. It perked his interests. If this place is truly cursed, then it must be the work of DEMONS. Those hellish beasts plague the bustling city he lived in. Why would it be any different here?
Of course, he isn’t going to share his hypothesis right now. If anything…it seems to be pretty mundane in this specific area. His blue-colored hues spotted a few houses and a lighthouse in the distance. The only unusual thing he could take note of is how every singe cloud in the sky forms a specific pattern. That may be a coincidence, though. Nothing to be concerned over.
❝I am Ryo Asuka: an expert in a field relating to ancient civilizations and traditions. I have heard reports from my sources pertaining to…UNUSUAL activity here. Activity that I may be able to give answers for. I’ll need your help, though. I can tell you are a bright, trusting individual. Will you tell me what you have experienced? No matter how strange, please tell me. I’ll believe what you have to say.❞
๑ - She was surprised to have company here- Kurozu-cho was rarely visited by outsiders. It was, after all, a rather isolated town compared to a lot of other places in Japan. The most company they tended to have here were on fishing boats.
Unfortunately, she also knew what it was that she was likely to be the first person ‘Ryo’ had been able to stop and talk to. People just weren’t acting the same anymore. And although she still didn’t know if she believed Shuichi’s lavish tales about ‘the spiral’ twisting people’s hearts....she still couldn’t deny that something was changing for the worse here.
It doesn’t take very long for her to think about his request. With her boyfriend so far disconnected from reality, and her neighbors and family becoming twisted by the town’s atmosphere...it would be a relief to talk to someone else about it. She looked over her shoulder, then back at him.
“How much time do you have...? I could start from the beginning, if you want. Let’s find a place to sit. ”
