Sony has released an official teaser video on YouTube today for its new flagship smartphone called 'Honami' or 'Xperia Z1.' It also confirms that Sony Honami will be launched on September 4th, 2 days ahead of IFA 2013 trade show in Berlin, Germany.

Sony is leaving no stones unturned to tease its upcoming Xperia Z1 aka Honami ahead of its September 4 launch in Berlin. After teasing photos, Sony today released a video showing off the G lens, the metallic frame as well as its waterproof capabilities. The Xperia Z1 is expected to sport a 20.1-megapixel camera along with a BIONZ image processing engine and will be capable of shooting videos at 4K resolutions. It will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 chipset with 2GB RAM, which we have seen on the Xperia Ultra and feature a 5-inch 1080p display. According to the Tweet by Sony, we can consider the name would surely be Xperia Z1.

Sony teases water-resistant ‘Honami’ hero phone in two new photos

Sony has posted two images to its Twitter feed to tease its new flagship “Honami” smartphone ahead of its debut early next month at the annual IFA trade show in Berlin, Germany. The first photo shows only the handset’s power button and teases that the device’s unveiling is coming soon. The second image is a bit more revealing because it shows the phone submerged in water alongside the claim that Sony’s new smartphone is “about to make a splash.” The obvious implication is that the Honami will be water-resistant, as several other recent Sony smartphones have been. Earlierreports suggest that the Honami may launch as the Xperia i1 or Xperia Z1 with specs that include a 5-inch full HD display, a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, a 20-megapixel camera, 2GB of RAM, a microSD slot and a battery sized somewhere between 2,700 mAh and 3,000 mAh.
