Jökulsárlón - Diamond Beach

Nested on the edge of Vatnajökull National Park in Iceland’s South Coast sits one of the most amazing beaches in the world. It is home to often thousands of both large and small ice bergs. Each piece of ice has its own unique shape and clarity. it may be white cloud, turquoise blue or like this one pictured, crystal clear. They rest upon the back volcanic sand making it a sight to behold.
Every single day it changes. Each day the sunset, sunrise, tide and waves all shift and change. Every day is a new day and scene at Diamond Beach.
This was day three of an attempt to photograph a sunrise behind a clear ice berg. Wielding my Sony A99 with a 70-400mm F4-5.6 G SSM II lens on tripod.It was a waiting game to get the tide up and light all in the right place. This is a magic spot and a grande memory to keep.
