Amayadori Illustrated Diary #019-#021
Most sources estimate that Rigel is 870ly away from the sun, that means the light we currently see comes from the very tail end of the Heian period (794-1185). However, estimates for Betelgeuse vary from 400 all the way to 700ly away from the sun, which puts the origin it's current observable light anywhere from the very end of the Kamakura Period (1185-1336), the Muromachi (1336-1573) or the very short Azuchi-Momoyama (1573-1603) Periods, to a little into the Edo period (1603-1868).
Gyokuro, or Jade Dew, is the highest grade variation of green tea in Japan (some even say of the whole world), it is harvested only once a year during winter. It undergoes a special harvesting process where the youngest leaves are shaded from the sun roughly 20 days before plucking, they then undergo several different drying processes and are set to age for up to six months before finally reaching retailers.
