PHLEBOTOMY: Hitting the marks with back flow of Excellence

That was the famous line of every px. But have you experience trembling during your first extraction of blood in school? Do you feel confident enough when you saw the vein of your classmates instantly? But when you put the syringe and trying to hit the vein, you failed to extract a blood and feel so frustrated asking your self why?

Blood collection is a common procedure of obtaining specimen. The analysis of blood is very important and essential for clinical findings. During the seminar, the speaker introduced us in the real world. Although I am a first year student of medical technology, I used to attend this kind of seminar in order for my skills development of blood extraction through venipuncture. She also discussed and let the 4th year students to conduct a demonstration on what to do and don’t during extraction.

She also said that the proper approach on patients must be observed properly. Attitude towards the patients are also an important key for a harmonious relationship of a health professionals and a patients. During the post seminar test conducted by the organizers, they told us that whoever got the highest score will be rewarded. I am not expecting at all, that I will be the one who got the highest score. The speaker gave me the reward that the organizers promised us.

Nevertheless, during venipuncture you may experience hard times when it’s your first time to extract. You may experience also the frustrations when you failed to extract blood. But, when you passed and you are able to extract blood, the meaning of happiness now for you is undefinable. And most specially you lessen the burden and pain that the patients may experience. And most specially the efficacy, workload, and turnaround time of the medical technology will not be more time consuming because of the errors in venipuncture.

MEDTECH LANG!

Bakit ka pa nagMEDTECH? Taga kuha lang naman kayo ng ihi, dugo at tae...

Those lines are the most irritating lines that I’ve ever heard. Instead of being irritated most of the time, I made this as an inspiration and be more positive. We do not need to exposed ourselves just to tell everyone we are helping those people. We are just like a framework that makes a building stand on its own elegance. We may not be popular as any other professions in our society. Yet How can you imagine society without Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist?

A society without a medical technology is like a man in a cave having a source of light and knowledge in his surroundings, and yet doesn’t know the function of everything . Without medical technologist, the healthcare system will fail to give a hundred percent appropriate and accurate treatment to the patients who are suffering from a certain diseases. Being in the field of Clinical Laboratory we may not only limit our profession in collecting specimens. We also risk and expose our lives dealing with so many complicated procedures and tests, involving those microorganisms and viruses that may infect as while we are performing a laboratory test to discover a patient’s diseases.

We may not provide a hands on care to the patients. Yet, we assure you that we are going to provide an accurate test results so that your physician may provide a good quality treatment leading to your fast recovery.

It’s been a week since my last blog. My life lately with my study table. Reviewing for my board exam and still trying to update here. Hello to my busy schedule (being artsy with my DIY calendar) which is almost saturday na lang ang No Class ko! Swerte na kapag saturday and sunday. I’m rewriting my notes on Clinical Microscopy (still being artsy with my notes lol) na ang daling aralin pero napakahirap na sa boardexam!

Meanwhile, mag-isa lang ako sa dorm (first time ko ito) medyo nakakapanibago kasi madaldal ako lalo na kapag kaclose ko na. Ngayon puro alone time ako. Buti na lang may mga college friends parin ako dito sa manila. :)

So Hi! Thanks sa mga new followers ko. Pasensya na kayo at naabutan nyo ang pagkabusy ko. Bihira nyo na lang ako makikitang magpost but still trying to reach out with you all. Have a nice day :)

After the sad part of my life i have to move on! YES! Marami pang mangyayari kaya kapit lang onah kaya mo yan!  I am looking forward for more positive vibes the coming days! Yay! :) (Excuse may kaconyohan. Taglish talaga akong magkwento. Lol.)

Holy Week. Last night my college friend texted me and she said she’s coming to cavite (my hometown) to celebrate holy week with me and some friends here. Yayyy! I AM SO EXCITED.

Unwind. I am planning to have some beach therapy. Hello summer na din kaya I hope bago ako magreview ulit makapag-unwind naman kahit papaano. Hindi ko pa alam kung with friends or family.

Review center or self-review. Hindi pa ako nakakapagdecide. Last time kasi self-review na lang ako. Ang mahal kasi ng review center nasa 12K na. Gustuhin ko man kaso magastos at hindi kaya ni mommy. May dorm pa daw kasi at baon. 

Sagala/Santacruzan. May mga friends and relatives ako na niyayakag akong sumali. Sabi ko last year ko na nung 2014 eh. So let’s see. maybe I will say “NO”. Sorry haha

Fiesta. Last year hindi ako nakaatend ng fiesta samin and guess why? Kasi nagrereview ako nun for my september board exam at heto ako ngayon magrereview ulit ughhhh. Anyways May 15 pa naman yun. hello ang layo pa. LOL. And before I forgot, 1 year na sa work yung boyfriend ko sa araw na ito. Yayy!

Focus. I need this, Hello 3rd time na kaya! Sana nga makasama na sa top kasi masasaulo kona yung reviewers lol (Baka lang naman) 

August. By this month dapat RMT na ako!

Okay that’s it for now. Looking forward for more adventures and challenges to come. :)

What should I do with you my future? Ang hirap mo namang abutin eh. 😭 Pero sana kahit ganun, alam kong para talaga tayo sa isa't isa. Mag memedical mission pa tayo eh. Kaya kelangan kayanin natin. Sana lang po talaga, hindi pa huli ang lahat. Sana may pagkakataon pa. Malalagpasan din natin to, in Jesus name.
