@sootsouls is being judgy.Â
â iâm not! iâm just, uhâŚoffering critique. â blackwall tries his best to up his vocabulary, though he could never amount to dorian and his fancy wordsâfingers run idly through his beard while dorian fiddles with his new attire. heâs never understood fancy clothes. rhinestones and silk have never amounted to much in his mind, having only experienced harshness on the open road, but seeing the mage dress up like that opens him up to the idea.
though heâll never say it out loud.
â why white? if youâre going to dress up, add some color. green, purpleâget crazy. â
âI would have thought even your simple, southern eyes could see why.â For all the pains Blackwall was going through to sound scholarly, he was falling short of the mark. The effort, Dorian thought, was meant to offend him; and he met insults with his own smarting words.
âColour is a tawdry way to draw attention, Blackwall. Look closer--- I know you are capable of that much. The moirĂŠ pattern on the silk frock looks stunning on my complexion... but I hardly call this âdressing upâ.âÂ
