he didn’t like repeating himself. It’s a reminder that he’s lost control to a few demons one of them named intoxication. And yeah he could smile in the face of a losing battle but inside he didn’t want any reminder that he was. He liked to think he was stronger than he displayed and it drew the worst from him.
It’s why when he feels those hands on his cheeks he’s practically burning with desire to repulse her. It’s stupid because they’re shaking and they’re so soft and they feel soooooo good. But he licks his lips eyes now closed and hands moving to fall over her own.
She’s small, tiny enough to break under the smallest tap of pressure. He wants to be that tap, he also wants to be the one pushing her away to a path less destructive. Silly boy anything that touches you shatters. And he doesn’t open his eyes because he might look in hers and break.
“Yes, god your hands are wonderful.” He’s being repulsive again, he’s running his thumb over the top of her hand and leaning too close for her comfort. He hears it in her breath but he’s too far gone to care. “You ain’t gonna leave me right?” She should. Anyone in their right mind would, he would leave himself if he could but his many attempts are lost on his words.
