acnh hype (my rogue as a villager)
It’s been a while
I started doing a lil drawing challenge for funsies. I’m not doing them in order or anything and im not terribly picky about how they turn out. I just figured i should probably put something up once in a while
All but number 6 are of my OC and npc character in our DnD campaign, Mikazuki Yoruko, Usurper King of Genos. He likes pretty things. Number 1 features his secretary Shiori. Number 6 is sora with curly hair. It didnt really end up looking like her but whatever.
ive been struggling with my self worth so if you could leave me a nice message if you like something that would be cool.

Ace-Virgin-Gear witch “Sorahime” uses has some pieces of memories about the aircrafts of the base of them. “Sorahime” sometimes feel that memories. The thousands of memories which they can feel contains both glorious victory and defeated.

SoraHime: Ace Virgin
No, seriously, that’s the title. The full translation, before you ask, is Sky Princess: Ace Virgin, not that it make much difference. Man, I really don’t know. I've seen a lot of weird shit since I started playing Japanese games, but this... I really don't know what the hell was happening when they decided that was what they were going with for the title. It’s not even done ironically, which... Well, what do I know.
Ace Virgin is a social game by 6waves that takes the Kancolle concept and reproduces it with anthropomorphised planes instead of ships. Flying girls, né Ace Virgins, going up against some a vague but also somewhat girl-like enemy, Original Sin, or the Sins, or something along those lines. Don’t worry. Doesn’t matter. Anyway, if you know how Kancolle feels, then you know where this game is trying to go.
Like so many social games that are cut from that cloth, the point is not in the combat, but in the collecting, upgrading, and training of the various girls (or planes, or ships, or blenders, or whatever) that you unlock by logging in every day, or finishing missions. Like Kancolle, there’s also mechanism for, ah, crafting new girls by sacrificing distributions of materials and then letting the game spin its wheels for an hour or so. So you can do that too. You can also craft upgrades, in the form of bolt-on guns or missiles.
Not that any of that makes any difference to how the actual game plays. You can upgrade and tinker with your girls all you want, but essentially since there’s no real gameplay to speak of, it’s going to boil down to the stats. Your sole input in each mission is to choose what girls will go, then choose their formation before each battle starts. The rest plays out automatically, so whoever has the better stats will win. Asides from unlocking new missions and seeing how well your team of girls performs, there’s nothing going here. Personally, I find the sheer lack of control to be frustrating and utterly unrewarding, but I suppose they’re following the Kancolle pattern, so that’s just how things are.
Game play aside, production values are not bad at all. There aren’t really that many cut scenes or narrative elements to speak of, which doesn’t do much to increase game longevity, but the girls themselves are all voiced, at least in as much as they bark out a few lines during combat. The art is consistent and well done, and mostly pretty cute, with a few weird exceptions here and there. Incidental art, backgrounds, and the loading cards between missions are are well drawn and interesting.
I played this game for a few hours while waiting for some documents to get processed at the local city hall, and I didn’t find it horrible. Since it requires no real interaction, you can kind of play it without paying too much attention. It’s the sort of thing you can mindlessly poke at for a few hours. But unless you really love these sorts of stat-grinders, you’re going to stop checking in pretty quickly.
It’s not terrible, overall. It’s way better than a lot of other Kancolle clones that you can find on the app store. But I have a hard time pin-pointing what the particular appeal is supposed to be here.
Unless you’re a hardcore military plane otaku, give it a miss.
