ren is a werewolf. martyn is a sorcerer in the listener’s guild.
martyn takes a job to deal with a uncontrollable werewolf that’s been terrorizing a nearby town. so he travels to the town, meets the townspeople. they’re all very sweet and incredibly thankful that someone is here to help. they’re all willing to help him, except for one person.
the owner of a pie shop. ren.
and martyn is suspicious of ren for a while, taking to tailing him one night. he follows ren back to his home, where he finds that he has a younger sister. and that sister is a werewolf — the one martyn has been looking for.
the sister (rosie) escapes and it forces ren to explain what’s been going on. he and martyn then work together to save her rather than kill her. and after? martyn goes back to his guild but can’t stop thinking about ren. so he starts to visit.
until eventually, he starts to consider ren his home. he’s basically adopted into ren’s pack (ren, rosie, bigb (and joel was there once)). when ren considers going into the magic business, martyn is right there to encourage him. he even says that he’ll stay and help ren out! whatever he needs, martyn is there to help.
so they all move to aqua town, they set up renchanting. and maybe ren and martyn kiss behind the bookshelves <3
