HIS MIND DARTS TO EITHER Rena or Satoru at the mention of that. Those are the two who have really heard those words from him before. He almost didn't notice this girl's presence. Impressive. Not many people can get the jump on him easily these days.
But he's pretty convinced she's not a sorcerer. She doesn't seem that strong, but unlike the monkeys that roam in society, he wouldn't kill a sorcerer without a reason.
"Wouldn't you think swearing that kind of oath can be a curse of itself." He pauses, remembering that he still had some of those ties within him, but they weren't the same as they were back then. Sure they weren't the same, and they both probably scorned him, but it didn't change that Suguru had cared for them.
"Have you ever been betrayed? Hurt by another, I wonder," Suguru can tell a broken spirit when he sees one, and he can tell there's something in her that's very broken.
She had the same look he and many others had.
He flips a hand, shrugging, "I guess what I could ask is if you've ever love someone you'd be willing to do things that may be looked down upon in society?" That's the biggest part of love being the curse. It's why he couldn't walk in the same path of two people he still cared about after all these years.
"Those people will eventually walk away if you're willing to do anything for them. Trust shouldn't be gained, especially for those who may never fully understand your path." Does he still carry those feelings? Absolutely.
But it doesn't chain him down to stop his ambitions. If not, he wouldn't of slaughtered that entire village that night. He's different from them.
