O’ HOW HE WISHED it did not bother her , but alas , maria was an empathetic soul to the point where she could read him far too easily   (   even when he expressed nothing   ) . the least he could say was that he’d be fine , though there was doubt that would soon follow suit from maria and he’d have to deal with the consequences of such flimsy lies . and so , alucard has been slowly but surely growing used to the emotional support she provided him without much objections nowadays . after all , she did go out of her way to make her stance known to him , a foolishwoman to chase after him once his mission had been complete …. at least that’s how he thought at first .

she stopped the mere thought of him returning to his dormancy . alucard truly believed that the world would be better off without him in it , he was ready to return to his deep slumber but she denied it . fervently , might one add . so he has stayed at her side ever since , watching over her as she , in return , did the same . it was a relationship he did not mind , in the end . and to think richter would allow her to do such despite their background … odd . 

so when she speaks and her hand is gracefully placed upon his forearm , alucard can only look down towards it in response , silence taking over him . how should he respond ? he wondered , interactions never came easy to the dhampyr and so it takes a moment before he can thoroughly address her statement .

          ‘   yes … i am well aware of your support , maria . thank you , but i have been fairing well as of late . thanks to you.   ’
