Coventry move can 'kick-start' Sordell
Striker Marvin Sordell can use his move to Coventry City to “kick-start” his career, says manager Tony Mowbray. The 25-year-old, who played in the Premier League for Bolton and Burnley, joined the League One Sky Blues[1] in July after being released by relegated Colchester United. “He’s only had a few training sessions,” Mowbray told BBC Coventry and Warwickshire.[2] “We’ll know at Christmas…

The magnificent seven
What can you say, Watford have now won 7 games in a row in all competitions beating the likes of Leicester, QPR, Cardiff, Portsmouth, Scunthorpe, Hartlepool and Derby. I have been so impressed with how we've been playing I recently purchased a season ticket.
When you consider the limited resources that was given to Watford manager Malky Mackay at the start of the season, it shows what a tremendous job he's done nurturing and getting the best out of what he's got.
Danny Graham has been on fire during this time scoring in 6 consecutive matches. Danny is the first player to do so at Vicarage Road since the 1920's and has done this despite picking up an injury in the Scunthorpe game.
One other player, who I've been impressed with greatly is Marvin Sordell. Marvin's only 19 years old and after making a handful of appearances for Tranmere on loan and Watford last season. He's forged a great partnership with Graham and has scored goals with confidence.
In fact, all across the team you can see players who have shown great heart, determination and passion throughout not only the last 7 games but the first half of the season. In my opinion there has been some terrific attacking football not seen since the days of Graham Taylor.
Interestingly, Watford haven't lost at home since the 23rd of October and are unbeaten in 9 games. The Orns have also managed to score 50 goals in the Championship in 25 games and have the best second best goal difference in the division currently.
Yesterday's game against Derby County was one that gave me more than a little concern. Earlier in the season, the Rams had battered the Hornets 4-1 up at their place and had looked our strongest opponents in beating us so convincingly.
However Watford worked hard, countered a dogged Derby determination to go in 3-0 up at half time with goals from Will Buckley, Graham and Sordell. The second half was a flatter affair but to be fair the Hornets had more or less knocked the stuffing out of the Rams before the break.
Who knows where this unpredictable season will lead? There may be more twists and turns to come. However, if you'd asked me if we'd have beaten QPR and Cardiff in quick succession at the start of the season I would have questioned your sanity. I'm just hoping for 3 more wins and for Watford to stay in the Championship.
Come on You Golden Boys!
