Well it takes him a while to get comfortable, but once he’s in a comfy position he just switches off. So I guess it depends on what he’s sleeping on/who he’s sleeping with and how long it takes him to get comfy.

Like if you’re sweet to him? that’s good but if you’re sweet to people you don;t even have a reason to be sweet to (aka strangers, staff at places, that sort of thing? Where you don’t have a Reason to be nice but you are anyway cus you’re not a shitty person) he gets gooey.
What are their parents/caregivers like prior to their being born?
His parents were decent people before his birth, they got along well in the clan. They seemed really sweet and excited to be having a baby, they asked for advice on how to raise the healthiest baby possible and really it just seemed like they were going to raise him well.

Well he was born into a dalish elf clan which is a disadvantage in the way that humans really opress them.
But the other Big thing that happens is that his parents change. Over time they become incredibly controlling and abusive.

He doesn’t have siblings, he was an only child and was isolated from most of the clan until he was about 13 at which point he was taken away from his birth parents and started to get out and develop a relationship with other people like his adoptive mother and other kids in the clan his age (though he was still pretty withdrawn and easily spooked for a long time)
Do any major changes occur in their life during adolescence? How do these changes affect them?
Yes, he finally gets taken away from his parents and they get kicked out of the clan for how they treated him. He gets adopted by Deshanna and starts getting taught magic with the other kids (he was already learning magic before then but he was being taught by his mother instead of Deshanna)
It really helps him to open up and it’s a much healthier and safer enviroment.
Also he realises he’s like super gay.
Are they generally independent as an adult? Why/why not?
No, he’s not. He ends up developing DPD because of the abuse in his childhood and even as he grows up and gets in a better place he is still very very dependent on other people to help him. He tries his best but he has a lot of trouble making big decisions for himself. and sometimes even little decisions are too much for him (on bad days where he’s overwhelmed or has had to do too many things and ran out of decision spoons)
Thankfully he has good and kind and supportive people around him who understand and help him without controlling him.

He remembers little of his time with his birth parents but his relationship with Deshanna helps to set him up for caring for his own children. He often asks her for advice on what to do because he trusts her with kids, also when he’s stuck he tends to think “how would deshanna have dealt with this?”

Well he was born to an ex-slave and for three years it was pretty good actually, they lived in an alienage and were living in poverty but he was very loved and cherished even though he was mute and kind of weird.
Then he developed magic and got stolen away by the templars and it all went to shit.

He has no siblings. EXCEPT for his sib from another crib Ciran who adopts him as the baby sibling. But that’s when he’s like 17.

He sort of always knew in the back of his mind that he didn;t fit the box he had been put into but he didn;t know how to word it and also was worried about exploring it because being outside of the norm is Bad in a circle tower.
Once he was out he started to think about it a little more and everything came to a crux when he realised he was in love with Morrigan and Zevran and had to sit down and really seriously think about that, and after a long fuckign time of thinking and self discovery and confusion he realised he doesn;t really fit into any of the boxes he was shoved into and that’s OK. (he’s bi demiace NB and polyamorous)
Do they retain their relationship with their family on reaching adulthood?
Not really? But honestly he finds his own new family in adulthood and retains his relationships with them for the rest of his life.
What do they want to “leave behind” in the world?
A legacy of beating the shit out of every templar.

Honestly? It’s a means to an end and just a school of magic. He knows he’s been taught it’s evil and terrible his whole life but he doesn;t trust anything he’s been taught by a group of people who think it’s ok to take small children and lock them in towers and tell them they’re curses.
After going back to the circle he’s actually more convinced that there’s nothing wrong with blood magic? Like any magic it has it’s dangers of course but 99% of the people doing the blood magic in the tower were scared and wanted freedom from the templars.

He’s mute so he doesn’t have a speakingaccent but he has a signing accent. There’s a lot of slang for magic relatedthings in his signing from the mage tower (because when talking about magicspecifics a lot of the time you need a better way of describing things thansigning out the letter individually.) He also sometimes skips thebeginning of a sign while doing it because of how fast he signs. It’s likedropping his H’s if he spoke.

Yes, quite often. It’s what tends tocause his explosions of anger and when that happens he has to stop and take abreak from whatever it is that’s working him up so much.
