I’m gonna be doing more short fics about SorNeku since there’s next to nothing in fics about them, and then I’ll be doing a big fanfic on them that I’ve been planning for a LONG time.

Extract for future fic. (Sora/Neku)

So I’ll be posting a SorNeku fic in a few weeks, and it’s inspired by a lot of things, and this was one of my first drafts that I came up with when beginning to write it. This was somewhere in the middle of the story, and for info just IM, and I should post the first chapter soon.

Also Love Like You by Rebecca Sugar inspired this scene, that song is just so beautiful!!!

“Sora? Sora? Hey, are you up here?” Neku called out for the other but no answer as he searched for his friend.

“Sora, come on. Where are you?” Neku searched the apartment wondering where the brunette had run off to.

Neku checked Sora’s room, and it was empty too, his bed hadn’t been slept in since this morning, and he was about to leave until he notices his window was opened. They would often hang out on the rooftop of their building the ladder was by Sora’s window, it was worth a shot after all. 

He climbed out of the roof access, climbing up the ladder into the rooftop, as soon as he reached the top, he scanned the roof until he saw the back of Sora wearing his headphones. His expression was a concerned one before he sighed, he casually walked up to Sora. As he got closer he could the sniffles Sora was making, he was crying.

Neku just cleared his throat to get Sora’s attention as he almost jumped, quickly wiping his eyes as he just glanced back at the other who gave him a sympathetic look and then gently smiled. The orange-haired male just beside Sora who continued to wipe his eyes, he pulled the headphones from his ears as they were around his neck.

“Sorry for taking these...” Sora said as Neku didn’t answer him as he then just stared down at the ground, Neku then gently removed them from Sora’s neck and brought it to his ear and it was playing an instrumental that he wasn’t familiar with. 

“Hey, how about we listen to this one.” Neku said as he offered his hand out to Sora to borrow his phone for a second as Sora paused before handing Neku his mobile.

“So do you wanna talk about what happened?” Neku asked while searching for the song that he had in mind to play as Sora just looked at him before he just sighed.

“It’s... C-Complicated.” Sora just said as Neku just laughed a little.

“No more complicated than anything I’m used to.” He responded as he wanted to listen to Sora’s problem as he just kept quiet.

“You can tell me you know... Or would you like me to guess?” Neku asked as Sora looked at him again.

“I think it’s because you saw him, that guy that you had feelings for, and the person that he’s with now, someone who was also close to you too.” Neku said as Sora’s expression changed, he was nervous as he was right.

“When they came into the shop, you just froze up, and then left so quickly, it was a little hard to figure out what exactly had happened by I figured it out.” Neku went on further to explain to the other.

“You came to Shibuya to escape them, not just because you wanted to study out here.” Neku said causally as Sora turned his head away.

“H-How’d you kn-” Sora stopped himself as he didn’t want to admit it.

“I could see it in your eyes, when you were alone or thought you were, or when you were deep in thought. You always had this sad look in your eyes... You had the look of a broken heart, but there was also shame there too. You ashamed of something.” Neku said as every word he said was the truth.

“Seeing them again after all this time made you go back to that moment.” He said as he then scrolled down on the page he was on as Sora felt a mix of things, his chest was tight that Neku knew all this but he was surprised that his friend had paid attention to this.

“Okay, found it.” Neku said as he then pulled the jack out of the phone as it would out loud for them, in a moment Sora he heard a piano being played and then a gentle woman’s voice, followed by some other instruments.

“I’d like you to hear this one... I didn’t know how to express this but I think the song really conveys my message.” Neku said as he placed the phone between them.

“This is kinda sudden but I want you to understand what you mean to me Sora.” Neku said as Sora just looked at Neku as the song played.

Sora’s eyes were wide as they were filling up with tears, he was a little overwhelmed by this, and what happened earlier. Neku was just smiling at him, he closed his eyes gently swaying along with the music. He just looked at the other before looking at his phone with the song still continuing, this was how Neku felt about him, he had feelings for him...

Look at you go I just adore you I wish that I knew What makes you think I'm so special

“It’s okay you know. I’m gonna be right here by your side. So you won’t be crying anymore... Unless their tears of joy. You won’t ever feel this kind of hurt again Sora, as long as I’m here with you.” Neku said opening his hand out for Sora to grab.

“You taught me. A long time ago, you taught me an important lesson... And I’ve always kept it close to my heart.” Neku said as Sora wiped his eyes again as he saw Neku’s free hand, slowly reaching out for it, gently squeezing it.

“I’ll keep protecting you Sora. We’ll watch each other's backs. We’re here for you, you’ve got friends, family, and you no matter what happened back then, you can move on.” He told Sora who just leaned against him, listening to the song as it was ending.
