« I miss moments like this more than anything. »
ted’s gaze went from his newborn daughter to his friend and back again to nymphadora. she looked so peaceful and vulnerable and cute, lying there sleeping like that. pride was not the word he was looking for. she had only been in his life for a few weeks, yet that little child already was his entire world. even if it took both him and amelia to get her to fall asleep.
he looked up again, smiling at amelia. they had not seen each other in a while, and although he seemed to be pretty occupied with little dora, he was genuinely happy to finally see her again. and, of course, to have her help with the child when andromeda was fast asleep upstairs.
amelia might not be dora’s mother, but her and ted had been parents together a while ago, too. hence, ted could be sure she knew what she was doing. he trusted her. and her help this evening had been priceless.
« i mean, look at us now. still doing amazing at taking care of little humans. »
he moved to his right towards the kitchen, expecting amelia to follow him. now that nymphadora was asleep, it was finally time to calm down, and there was nothing better than a cup of tea to go with that.
« looking back, we were pretty good at what we were doing, weren’t we? »
