I don't usually get a lot of asks about my OCs so this is really exciting (and I honestly had to do a double take to make sure you weren't actually Rill instead of Rye. Didn't realize their names were kind of similar until now😅). I am so flattered that you like his name and wanted to know my thoughts about him! 🥰

So Rye kind of came to exist in my mind as this running joke that my sister and I had about Rill and Charmy having this son in the future who has Rill's painting magic but only ever uses it to paint food. Rill, of course, loves his son very much, but he grows a little bit exasperated because he's trying to train him on how to use painting magic and he just keeps painting cakes. 😂 Charmy of course encourages their son's passion for food so she's no help, and all kinds of shenanigans ensue.

In my mind, they have these sparing sessions where Rill paints up these "adversaries," and in response Rye always paints food.

Rill: *surrounded by painted "wild boar"* Okay so this herd of wild boar is charging towards you. What do you do?

Rye: *paints a banana*

Rill: That's...that's a...Is that a banana? You painted a banana? How is a banana going to help you?

Rye: *shrugs* It'll help me not be hungry anymore. I'm starving! I can't think when I'm hungry, Dad.

Rill: But this is just painting magic, Rye. You can't actually eat...

Rye: *Ignores him and puts the entire painted banana in his mouth* Tastes fine to me.

And that's how they learn that Rye's painted food items are actually edible and his magic is more of combination of both Rill and Charmy's. 😁

Out of his parents, Rye definitely takes after his mom in personality, and he has a very snarky streak from her (especially when he is a teenager) and is always good for a dry, one-liner. He loves to tease his friends and spend time with them having fun and eating lots of snacks, of course. Though he can be a little goofy at times, he's not nearly as high-energy, zany, and adventurous as his younger sister, but they have always gotten along very well despite their differences. When he gets older, he joins the Magic Knights and becomes a Black Bull like his mother. He retires young, however, in order to help his mom at her restaurant because his real passion will always be food. He eventually follows his dream of taking over and running the restaurant one day.

He is very close with his Black Bulls' cousins especially Asa Adlai who swears food tastes better when he transforms into him. 😂

For a Rye song, I've picked "Raining Tacos" by Parry Gripp since I think it's a song he would really, really like. It just really speaks to that silly sense of humor and the fact that he really does have such a goofy side, and naturally, he would love any song about food (but especially a ridiculously catchy one like this). If he existed in a Modern AU, I could totally see him and his little sister, Anni, dancing to this song on repeat with Charmy and Rill when they were little with the whole family acting as absolutely silly as they possibly could. (Maybe they even get Grandpa Walter to join in) 😂
