Do Eris and Marcel look the most alike of the brothers?

Yes! When Marcel was born, the staff at the Forest House would quietly note he looked just like a mini Eris. Their hair colour is almost the same -- Eris's is just a shade more reddish, and they have different colored eyes (Eris's amber to Marcel's pale brown), but their features are very similar. Marcel's eyebrows are a bit thicker, and his cheekbones and jaw more slender than Eris's. Growing up during the War and in the absence of Beron, baby Marcel took great pride in taking after his brother.

Over the years, though, as he grew up and Beron began subjecting him to things too horrifying to casually mention in this ask, Marcel's body changed, and his face grew more somber. His cheekbones and jawline are sharper now and cheeks more hollow, and his eye sockets seem deeper and darker. The dark circles and bags under his eyes do not go away even after hours of uninterrupted sleep. Most importantly, there is the expression -- haunted, almost, in a way that makes what should have been an attractive face make the onlookers feel uneasy. Don't get me wrong, Marcel is handsome -- but you can't ignore the instinct telling you to run when you look at him. Even when he seems indifferent to his surroundings and entirely bored, there is something in his eyes that just feels deeply, inherently wrong.

As adults, Eris and Marcel are very easy to distinguish. Aside from the general vibe they give off -- Eris with his general aura of an insufferable asshole, and Marcel being just downright scary -- their general appearance isn't nowhere near mistaking them as twins. Eris is also broader in build and has shorter hair that goes a bit past his shoulders, while Marcel's iron-straight hair is waist-length. You wouldn't be able mistake them for the other even from a distance but, looking closely, you'll be able to tell: there was a time that the two of them had been close enough to let themselves look like a family.

i wish i knew me!!! i want to know who i am and what i like and what i want and what i wish to be. i want to know why i’m here and what i will do. i want to know my personality and my downfalls and pet peeves and my individualities. who really knows themselves? i don’t know. some people have it figured out. most people know what they like. but i can’t even manage that. i hop from things and i get bored and i can’t commit myself to anything long enough to excel at it and i’m nothing special at anything. oh how i wish i knew who i was so i could figure out how to apply myself!!!! introspection is a difficult task and even harder when you need glasses but they don’t make them for your brain!!!!!!!!!
