Trash can/bin
My parents usually refer to my room as my cave. I've decided to call it the trash can/bin since I'm complete trash. 😂
So I asked my friend to be my prom date today! He said yes! There was a piece of paper in his locker that said "I want to go to Prom with you so much it's..." then the poster says "Supernatural! (I'm sorry. That pun was awful. I made it in the Heat Of The Moment.) Prom? (Platonically. Duh.)" I'm very proud of my promposal. 😂
Here's the deal
I'm leaving for a short vacation tomorrow afternoon so I won't be too active on here until Tuesday. That being said, I was going to wait to post part 3 of Salem until after Nicole has a chance to beta parts 4 & 5 for me. HOWEVER! If enough of you guys want it I will post part 3 tomorrow before I leave. So let me know (be it ask, reblog or reply) if you want part 3 tomorrow! Let's say, if this post gets 15 notes I'll do it!
I’m gonna pull a Columbo, but one more thing. I’ve been thinking about the different iterations of fictional stories. We have the source text and everyone’s interpretations or reimaginings. The former includes my understanding as I read or watch it. The latter if I rewrite or create something based on it.
The following discussion is not what Crowley meant, but the line sparked something in my mind. I’ve been thinking about crowley’s line: “a whore is a whore is a whore.” And how sex workers often develop a persona that is up for interpretation by the client. They have themselves, which is their text source. Then their persona or presentation for the viewer. Different viewers may see a different persona. It’s all about perception. Either way, each individual involved may see something different based on their current lens.
Fiction is fiction is fiction.
Fiction is the same way. There’s the source text. This is the original that is created to be perceived a different way. The creator has certain intentions in mind. But the reader or viewer has their own interpretations or understanding of the text. Sometimes that stays internalized, or they write them down, or they take their perceptions and create something based on it. The last would be fanfic or any media that takes the source text, imagines, and reinterprets some aspect.
No matter what. It’s all fiction in every form and all as viable for interpretation. Spn is an ultimate example of this. The characters even argue about source text in the story. Chuck’s story vs. free will, for example. More literally, though, the various writers and producers have a “source text” in their brains, there’s the final script, and the produced and filmed source text. Viewers see and interpret their own, individualized versions. We all just take notes and compare. Is one more “pure” than the other? That’s up to interpretation. We can argue all day.
As a viewer, I have a certain perspective and interpretation based on my beliefs, life experiences, biases, knowledge of media, knowledge of spn, and every other aspect that comes into play. I see one version of the fiction. Another person takes their lens and sees a different version. Someone else sees something different, imagines a situation, and writes, for example, an au fanfic.
Fiction is fiction is fiction. It’s all about perspective and each iteration is viable. After all, it’s all made up in the end.
Police: We're pretty sure you didn't commit the murder, but we're gonna check your search history just in case.
Me, a writer with a propensity for violence, anatomy, and guns: Uh oh.
My mom and sister seem to love making anti-Destiel jabs at me, and it really bugs me. I don't find every opportunity to mock their ships. I honestly feel like part of their problem is that I refuse to watch this one show they like (because it has on-screen rape scenes).
Saw this onesie at WalMart …
