At the Edge of Society (2)
Mirjam was still busy until the end of the month and she and Sybille still had a roof over their heads. Of course, she was aware that her landlord had no personal needs and wanted to get rid of them as quickly as possible because he could rent out the old apartment much more lucratively. Sybille still had an old rental agreement that did not meet the current conditions. And as for Mirjam’s…

At the Edge of Society (1)
It started on a beautifully sunny day in May. It must have been the second one, because the day before Mirjam Moluske had taken part in the May Day march. Her world was still in order, as much as it could be for someone who had lost her parents and was in a job whose salary allowed her to make ends meet more fairly than badly. But somehow it still worked out. This is how Mirjam acted from one…

Sorted out (1)
Lena sat on the bench in the park and did not know where to go. She had had a home for 50 years and suddenly, overnight, she was sitting in the street. Your home. Actually, it had been nothing but a room with a kitchenette and shower and a balcony that had given her control. A small, modest room, but it was hers. Over the years she saw it that way. When she saw her plants growing on the balcony,…

The journey made her
The journey she started that day in 2004, led her places she NEVER expected to go. It broke her heart and took her to the depths. But it was there she found her courage.
When Kelly and I first sat down to brainstorm a plan for our featured guests for the GNO this year, she was insistent that we needed a professional home organizer on board to talk about “Spring Cleaning” for April. fuck me why cant i ever say no??? my work called me today cause a coworker called out (she ALWAYS fucking calls out, what the fuck?) and of course i couldnt fucking say no, even though i told them i would be going over the total amount of hours im allowed to have per week as a part timer
so now im super stressed out because 1) going over my hours and theres is a possibility i could get in trouble for it since theyve been really stingy and uptight about hours lately, and 2) i really really really really didnt want to come in today because i have mid-long shifts everyday from monday through thursday (some of those days I am the mid, meaning i have cover the managers lunches and be in charge of the store while they are clocked out for breaks and shit). also i just didnt want to in general cause i was planning on just. i dont know. relaxing??? i had a list of things i was gonna do today that i can now no longer do... just.uuuuugh. i hate working sundays.
i think the thing that irritates me the most about this is that my coworker (the one who called out today) asked me last night at like 11 at night and messaged me and asked me to take her shift, but i told her no because i would go over my hours. but then fuck they call me in anyways when she calls out and now i basically HAVE to say yes even though i dont want to because the manager fucking opens with “hey lauren are you up to anything?” why couldnt i just say “yeah ive got soooo much to do!” why do i have such a hard time saying no to those people?????? i hate it. now im just in a really bad mood.
sorry.
