Comic announcement!

I am very happy to finally show the first official art for my upcoming comic “Escaping the Prophecy “

The first chapter will be published here and on webtoon on the 11th of June!

The comic will follow Idris, who lives in a world where magic is extinct. Despite this Idris finds something impossible - a magical sword, forgotten and unassuming. Little does Idris know that this sword will change their life forever, as they try to escape the prophecy that the sword now binds them too.

This weekly update I’m introducing the third character of the group, a part of the fae named Meleri! (She/they)

Meleri is the the only fae of the group, being magical herself despite living in the non magical world.

She is also dating another member of the group who will be revealed next week!

As for the update on the progress of the comic itself, I’ve been doing set design, more script writing and outlining and even a free story boards for the first three pages!

As for next week, I plan to do the same as this week and just take everything a bit further still.

That’s about all I’ve managed in terms of progress this week, but I’m hoping to do a lot more next week! As well as more turnarounds and official reoccurring backgrounds that’ll be used in the comic!

Intruding my favourite cast member, Oscar! (He/they)

Almost considered making this guy the main character when I first started doodling them but couldn’t find a way to make it work, Idris is just irreplaceable!

Also ignore the fact that i still haven’t posed the wip and title as I said in my previous update! Work has gotten busy again so I haven’t had the chance to work much on the promo art just yet.

As for the progress update it’s self, all major plot points have been worked out and a blurb written! I’m also working on turn arounds, charter interactions and more reoccurring scene settings. I’ve also had to create an entirely new secondary character to tie the whole thing together, seance I realised the gang really needed not just a mentor but also someone with a place and advice to fall back on. This was all done through research on world building, story writing and making comics!

Next week’s update will be split into two! One progress update and one post announcing the comic!

Saved the best for last! Here is the final member of the main four, Ffifon (she/her)!

Ffifon is a member of the druids who are the few people who respect and honer magic, which is why they have such a fun outfit!

She is dating Meleri, who helps her connect and learn more about the existing magic since they are magical themselves.

Out of all the characters, Ffifon’s design has changed the most from when I first drew her, I’ll try post the sketches later this week with an extended update!

And the first character is announced…

This is Idris! (Any pronouns) They are the main charter of the folklore comic project! He is mainly based in the mythology of Wales, especially that of the valleys!

Like I said in my introduction post, I’ve been working on and off this project for a few years now so mainly this week has been reworking and developing old ideas to try and make things come together before I start the first draft.

Will be uploading more sketches later in the week, but as they are a bit spoiler-ie I’ve had to leave them out of this post!

Overall, in terms of progress so far just starting with charters, overall themes and certain plot points, just working the story enough to get things workable.

I also will be uploading a full bio on Idris (as well as other cast members once I finish redesigning them) later on!

Second charter reveal!

Introducing Idris’s best friend and biggest source of worry - Emyr (he/they)

Emyr is a jester/bard and a real jack of all trades. Especially when it comes to music and instruments, as that’s how they make a living. They, like Idris, are also based in mainly welsh folklore but also with some charters from north English folklore sprinkled in.

Despite their seemingly loud personality he has a tendency to quietly slink into the background if given the chance.

Another charter I really like, he’s just so silly.
