Okey Yall, the ep3 of SoS is here, BUT i am not the happiest with it. Tbh I think I'll take a break from lbk for some time. The hyperfixation for dst died down and I have other projects I wanna work on... I should be back in a year or two tho! I always come back to dst eventually
Here's what I would change in that first episode of mine:
First of all, change in how Susan looks during transformation. Granted, this part of the video is basically my comic animated, and in the comic Susan apears only in her low-shadow form, but I think it would work better if drew her in her full-shadow form here
Second of all, I think Susie is a biiit too comfortable around Wilson when they first meet. As much as I like the scene where he helps her up, I don't think Susan would be so chill about it - she is lowkey afraid of new people. Like, it doesn't feel like her + I want them to have more of a strangers vibe there. I would get rid of that physical touch in that scene. + It would make scene where Susan hesitates to shake his hand make more sense
I tried to make some backgrounds before I get to animateing 2nd episode, and I stumbled upon some issues with Toon Boom Harmony XD
Granted I think I solved them already, but I for sure will probably have some problems adding shade to things (adding anyhting with transparency was deleting ground part for some reason)
Also, the shadow wasn't clipping to trees corectly, but I already solved it
Bad news: i haven't finished editing audio on SoS before I had to give up my laptop to be fixed
Good news: i actually finished all animated segments and am editing audio in the old ver of the program + i have all files saved on external drive, so I can edit it on placeholder laptop
Bad news: the laptop im using rn is crap. This is hell
Okey folks. Episode 3 will be 1min 34sek long. All I have to do now is add audio. Fingers crossed that I'll be able to finish it tomorrow
There might be a sliiiiight delay in ep3 if I'm not done with everything by wednesday, since I'm then giving my laptop to be fixed, so I won't be able to use it for a couple of days. And I am still stuck at those few storyboards so-
If I had a nickel for every time I remade a scene only to come to conclusion that previous version was better...
What, you expected me to say I'd have two nickles? Oh, honey, no. OF COURSE IT HAPPENED MORE THAN TWICE.
That's the lesson for me to make scenes hronologically and stick to them...
Not sure if I said it already, but next ep of SoS should be done by mid-november or earlier
